NY POST: Peace and pride were on display yesterday as thousands of supporters jammed Fifth Avenue to celebrate the birth of Israel.


Waving Star of David flags and wearing “I ò Tel Aviv” T-shirts, proud Jews commemorated the country’s 1948 independence. The parade also commemorated the 100th birthday of Israel’s largest city, Tel Aviv, which one group recognized by rolling a giant birthday cake up the wide avenue.

Shlomo (ben Levi) Anidjar (40), a resident of Boulogne-Billancourt, France was one of the 228 passengers aboard the doomed Air France flight that went missing over the Atlantic Ocean on Monday while en-route from Brazil to France. He is married, father of three, and a member of the local Chabad community in Paris.
